National Billing Associates was formed in 2003 by three dialysis industry veterans. Charlotte Anthony, COO, began her career as a dialysis nurse and has over 25 years experience in dialysis operations and development. Jan Brown, the dialysis billing guru, has spent the last 16 years directly involved in reimbursement and she serves as Senior VP and Director of Reimbursement. Tommy Carter, CEO, handles sales and marketing and has over 30 years of involvement in the renal industry.
NBA has the distinction of being the first dialysis only billing company to combine professional billing services with a comprehensive dialysis specific electronic clinical software (MIQS). Our current client base includes over 25 hospital based and independent dialysis clinics that provide in-center, PD and home hemodialysis throughout the U.S. The corporate office is located in Birmingham, Alabama with offices in Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
We actively seek, hire, train, and retain the finest employees in the industry. Our dedicated Dialysis Billing Specialists interact with the Doctor, staff, patients, insurance companies, and intermediaries. Their main goal is to ensure timely collections and resolve billing disputes within the framework of NBA's high ethical standards.
NBA also employs a full-time Education Specialist and a Network Administrator that are committed to supporting your staff. Their responsibilities range from coordinating the initial implementation, setup, and training, to providing ongoing assistance with new software releases, lost connectivity, lab interfaces, and machine downloads into MIQS. These employees have over five years experience supporting dialysis clinics, so they are sensitive to your clinic's unique needs. We also understand that your clinic operates outside the normal 8-5 workday. With NBA, help is always just a phone call away.
Access to patient data is critical for providing your patients the best care possible. To ensure optimum system uptime, NBA's servers are located in an offsite Tier 3 facility. A few of the offerings from the data center are distributed redundancy, two CAT diesel generators, biometric security, and mirrored data backups to yet another offsite facility. System maintenance is conducted outside of the clinic's operating hours to further reduce downtime.
